Phil Collen Interview with KX92 Classic Rock

I used to tab Warren Haynes...the extremely gifted guitarist and vocalist of Gov't Mule, who simultaneously offered his talents with The Allman Brothers Band PLUS tending to a solo career...as The Busiest Man In Show Business.  He may now have a little competition.

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen is burning the candle at both ends and is having the time of his life doing so.  As the band is in it's final few days of their current tour in support of their self-titled studio album which came out last fall, Phil is also fronting a couple side projects...first and foremost a Blues-Rock band called Delta Deep (who released their self-titled debut album last year, featuring a special guest vocal from Def Leppard band-mate Joe Elliot and another from Whitesnake's David Coverdale).  He also fronts another band, Manraze.  Combine that with just finishing up producing the forthcoming studio album from Tesla (slated for an early 2017 release) and you've got a guy who could not be happier.

This past weekend, I had the privilege of speaking with this very talented guitarist for the fourth time in just a little over a year and a half.  We spoke of the concert upcoming tonight (Wednesday, October 5th) as they headline a Classic Rock Triple-Header with REO Speedwagon and Tesla at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul along with his two side bands, producing Tesla and what may be next for Def Leppard.
