Def Leppard Reportedly Set To Tour With Poison Again

Def Leppard will re-team with Poison for a 2017 tour, according to Bret Michaels. The Poison frontman confirmed the pairing, though further details weren’t yet available.

Poison haven’t appeared in public together since a 2013 stop at the Indy 500 Miller Lite Carb Day. Since then, they’ve only taken part in a smattering of private shows. Poison’s last tour was also with Def Leppard in 2012, when they shared the stage with Lita Ford as part of the Rock of Ages tour trek.

Michaels made the revelation when asked by the Salt Lake Tribune if a reunion with Poison was in the cards. “The honest answer to that is I absolutely hope so, and next year it’ll be Poison and Def Leppard,” he said. “The last time we were out was, I think, 2012, and we’ll go out and bring it again, and it’ll be insane.”

More recently, Michaels has focused on solo activity, something that seemed to create a rift with bandmate Rikki Rockett. The drummer has pointedly complained about Poison’s inactivity on more than one occasion.

“Poison is my baby, you know what I mean?,” Rockett told Eddie Trunk last December. “I don’t wanna kill it off. But at the same time, it will get killed off if we don’t do anything. It’ll just automatically start to suffocate itself. And so, it’s time to do something. This year is definitely decision time.”

Michaels, whose last album was 2013’s Jammin’ With Friends, said Poison might have gotten together sooner, but things were put on hold after Rockett’s cancer diagnosis. Def Leppard and Poison also toured together in 2009.
