Delta Deep Announces East Coast Shows

Featuring Def Leppard lead guitarist Phil Collen and Stone Temple Pilots  bassist Robert DeLeo, the blues-laden Delta Deep ventures forth in March for a run of dates on the Atlantic Seaboard.  Stops include Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Washington.

The all-star Delta Deep also includes singer Debbie Blackwell-Cook, who has provided backup vocals for artists such as Michael Bublé, and drummer Forrest Robinson who has kept the beat for India.Arie, The Crusaders and TLC.

Delta Deep is touring in support of its soon-to-be-released live album featuring the band in action during its inaugural January tour of the West Coast.

Collen started Delta Deep in 2012 after he spent a year jamming on old Motown songs and classic blues tunes with friend Blackewell-Cook.  DeLeo and Robinson eventually turned those sessions into a quartet with a love for soul, funk and blues.

“When we actually all got together, instead of it sounding just bluesy or kind of rootsy like it had originally started, it actually ended up sounding more like Tina Turner singing on Led Zeppelin II,” Collen told the OC Register “It turned out to be much more bombastic when we actually all started playing, which was fantastic. It’s always good to have a muse and other inspiration and just let that take you somewhere else.”
